Tonight on Live from the Fallout Shelter on WUML 91.5FM, Old Grey will be coming in to play a live set. A power duo from the streets of Lowell, these guys mold their sounds based on the experiences they have had in the dirty dive bars and basements that saturate the mill city. In other words, Old Grey plays mean, heavy, gritty punk rock. You can expect loud guitars, heavy drums and even a good Misfits cover for once.
So tune in tonight from 8 - 11pm with Old Grey going on at 930pm with an interview after. Our DJ’s will be playing the best in underground music throughout the show as well. You can steam the show online or just come hangout! You can also call in to request a song at 978-934-4969. Clicking the photo above will bring you to the Facebook event page so please help us spread the word!

Live from the Fallout Shelter 6.6.11: Form & File

I host a weekly radio show called Live from the Fallout Shelter on WUML 91.5FM, a student run underground music college radio station Lowell. The show runs every Monday night from 8 - 11pm and I book a different band every week to come in and play a set and be interviewed. The radio show has been going for 26 years now and has had such bands as The Pixies, Converge, A Wilhelm Scream, Jericho (now Smoke Or Fire) and hundreds more. I will be posting on here every Monday morning to do a small bit on the band scheduled to play that night.

This week on the radio show, local band Form & File will be coming into the station to play a set. Known mostly in the Merrimack Valley, these guys are actually from all over the state and have members who have played in such bands as Think Again, Have Heart and Road Rage. The band plays melodic punk with a bit of post-hardcore influence that manages to come off as sounding like a heavier version of Jawbreaker…which is surprisingly really awesome. They are sure to be a favorite for fans of Small Brown Bike, Off With Their Heads, Make Do and Mend and other bands like that.

Currently Form & File has their “Searching: A 6 Song Demonstration” and “This is Form & File” releases available for free download as well as a track from their upcoming release “Twin Beds”. You can find all the downloads at their bandcamp page.

So tune in tonight from 8 - 11pm to Live from the Fallout Shelter on WUML 91.5FM with the band going on at 930pm with an interview after and the best in underground music before and after. Click here to stream the show live online or just come down to the studio to hangout with the band.

You can also request a song by calling in at 978-934-4969 or hitting us up on AIM at WUMLRadio.
